

While the game play is similar to the previous version of the game, this sequel to "Arena" adds some features. When this meter is empty, you win the round. A life meter at the top of the screen shows you how much life your opponent has left. As a one on one fighting game, the objective in "Persona 4 Arena Ultimax" is to defeat your opponent. You can unlock each Shadow character by completing specific in game requirements. This unlimited SP ability lets you unleash special move after special move and overwhelm your opponent. However, the Shadow character’s access to new abilities, such as giving themselves unlimited SP, is for only a short time. This Shadow form gives your character new moves in exchange for removing your defensive options. Nearly every character in "Ultimax" also has a Shadow form. Characters such as Yukari Takeba and Junpei Iori represent "Persona 3." Fan favorite characters such as Yu Narukami and Chie Satonaka represent "Persona 4." Each of these "Persona" characters has a unique array of special attacks. There is also one character, Sho Minazuki, who makes his debut in this game.

"Persona 4 Arena Ultimax" includes five unique characters that are exclusive to the home console version. All of the characters from the arcade version of the game are present. "Persona 4 Arena Ultimax" features over 20 characters for the player to select. This Atlus game was released in 2014 for the PlayStation 3. "Persona 4 Arena Ultimax" is developed by Arc System Works and published by Atlus. Once both stories are complete, players can unlock the true ending. The story mode is split into two parts, one for each group of characters from their respective games. It features the cast fighting a mysterious army of Shadows in something called the P-1 Climax.
